Keep in mind that Al-Guardian is, inherently, an anti-American newspaper. Hence, they can, at whim, drop the nuance of willing blindness to the dregs of certain "ethnic groups" if it makes the USA look bad. And the USA as a crime-ridden shithole is one of the favorite memes of anti-American journalists in Europe.
