The Speech Accent Archive

This awesome website catalogs the recordings of dozens of English speakers from around the world, each one reading the exact same passage. The speakers are both native speakers and non-native speakers of English. And the site also provdes a very literal IPA transcriptions of what many of them said. Fascinating stuff:

Here are a few of my favorites:

Scotland -- listen to how he says the "thr" in "three". It's an unusual and very Scottish phoneme.

Sicily Notice how the speaker adds vowels after words like "and" (it becomes "anduh"). 90% of words in Sicilian end in vowels.
